Who we are

Autovex ("we", "us") operates autovex.co.uk, a performance car comparison platform. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

What we collect

• Analytics data, only if you accept it: which pages and comparisons you view, how you arrived at the site, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and basic device and browser details.
• Feedback you send us: your message, the category you choose, an optional usefulness rating, an optional email address, and the page you sent it from.
• Pro waitlist: the email address you give us when you ask to be told about Autovex Pro.
• We do not require an account to browse, and we do not collect or store payment card details.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

• Analytics — to understand which cars and comparisons people actually care about, so we know what to build next. Lawful basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
• Feedback — to fix errors and improve the platform. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in running and improving the service. If you leave an email address, we use it to reply to you.
• Pro waitlist — to tell you when Pro launches. Lawful basis: your consent, until you ask us to remove you.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use analytics cookies only after you accept them, and we store your choice and your light or dark theme preference in your browser. Our Cookie Policy explains this in full, including how to change your mind.

Who we share it with

We use Google (Analytics) and Microsoft (Clarity) to measure how the site is used, and an email provider to send the messages we send. These providers process data on our instructions. We never sell your personal data.

How long we keep it

• Feedback: up to 24 months, so we can spot recurring issues.
• Pro waitlist: until Pro launches, or until you ask us to remove you.
• Analytics: for the retention periods set by Google and Microsoft, typically up to 14 months for Google Analytics.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or transfer it elsewhere. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

International transfers

Some of our providers process data outside the UK. Where that happens, transfers are covered by the safeguards those providers have in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the standard contractual clauses.

If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and the date shown at the top.
